Friday...

Hello and Happy Friday everyone!

Today is going to be a great day for many, many reasons! I got a great nights sleep, went for a run this morning and got all my thought organized, I am meeting with some great clients to help plan out their family portrait wall montages and for others to plan out their wedding day and all the special memories that I can capture for them!  Then later this afternoon I get the honor to capture Lacey and Barry's one year anniversary photos as they slip back into their wedding attire. I will have to write about that experience later!!!  To top my day off my twin sister is coming in to town to see a family friend of ours that is in the hospital and therefore I get to see her TOO!!!

I hope you all enjoy your friday and have a wonderful weekend planned with your friends or family!

Karl & Joni's Engagement Photos...

I had to share a few of the hundreds of fun photos that I captured of Karl and Joni for their engagement session.

We all drove out to Karl's families farm early evening for these photos. It was kind of a questionable day as the wind was blowing terribly. We all kept our spirits up and carried on with the plan! But when we arrived at the farm the wind was still pretty scary for Joni's beautiful long hair.  Instead of starting off with photos we just cooked up an amazing dinner and sat down to enjoy it together.

When we finished up with the last dishes the wind had went down so much more and we were on our way to beautifully lit photos.  BUT WAIT.... if it wasn't enough with the wind... then we had the mosquitos swarming all over us! Oh yes! They were every where. In some of the photos I will be editing them off of Karl and Joni's head as they were trying to hold still for the picture before they swatted away the mosquitos again. LOL  That was so much fun! Thanks for working through all the awesome conditions for the amazing images with the sun going down too!  You two are absolutely the cutest together!!!

These two are to be married next June at Sylvan Lake.  I really can say that they have what it takes and wish them so many exciting moments together.  Thanks for asking me to be your wedding photographer! I'm so excited to see you two exchange vows!!!

Kelsey

Kelsey came in to the studio last Friday for her session with some fun ideas for her senior photos. She wanted to light her soccer ball on fire, ride a bicycle and then we captured a portrait that was a family tradition. Her two sisters had their senior photos taken with similar settings, props, poses and we got it!!!  That evening to top off my great day with Kelsey I went to watch her play soccer.  Thanks for the invite Kelsey!  Great job!  I'll have some photos up to show you later...

Last night my friend had extra tickets to Blake Shelton in concert at the fair and I got to go use them!!! If you enjoy country music Blake Shelton is a wonderful entertainer and it's pretty awesome to see a musician like that. He sounded exactly like he did on the radio. No special computer effects!  He was pretty funny too as he explained to all of us his scare with coming up to SD and playing. Since he really never gets up here he figured no one would show up and then performing on a tuesday night it could really be bad! hee hee

He was happy to see all that turned up for the concert and cheered him on! So if you ever get a chance to see him... I would recommend it!

Have a great day!

Rose

I didn't know when we got in the car to take off down to the beautiful meadow by the creek that Rose was wanting two things in particular to happen at her session. Little did she know she would get both! It rained on us and she was in a meadow covered with wild flowers! The prom dress she wore in the meadow was stunning! It made her eyes really sparkle as she went walking through the tall grass and flowers. Rose you did a great job!!! Here's a few to look at!

Dan & Bri's Wedding Photos

Well... the time has come to share the with everyone the breathtaking photos of Bri and Dan!!!

They were united in marriage at a ranch in Malibu, CA early this month. The day was beautiful, not too hot and the bride was absolutely glowing! I could really get used to all the wonderful areas for photos in California!!!

Here's the start of a parade of images that I was able to capture while over in CA for the wedding! I used a lot of warm colors for these ones as it just really presents the feelings of being there and the love they share.

Enjoy... and remember... if you ever need a destination wedding photographer!... give me a call!

SURPRISE!!!

My twin sister is THE BEST!!! Today there was a little.... tap.... tap... tap on my studio door and then... a package!!! It's not my birthday I thought!!!

Hummmmm.....

So I opened it up... I hadn't ordered anything recently that would come in a box that cute!

I opened up the most intricate box to find VERA BRADLEY!!!! For those of you who have never heard of the Vera Bradley line of purses, bags, ect. you should check them out at www.verabradley.com!

The first time
I ever heard of Vera Bradley's line was at a wedding in South Carolina when I was in college. We went to a store and I was overwhelmed with the warm, personal feel of each of the pieces.

Then last year for my sister's birthday a friend and I went together and purchased her a tote bag and zip wallet! It was so much fun finding the pattern and color that reminded us of her and then making the purchase! I still smile every time I see my twin and she has her cute little tote!

Back to today..... :)

NOW... I have my very own zip wallet!!! I LOVE IT!!! Thanks so much sister! It's the perfect colors! Hee hee It's a bit crazy but... YES I did include some photos for all of you to see my upgrade!!

Out with the old and in with the new!!! (Yeah I did have quite a bit stuffed into that wallet!)

Jessi, you are the best! Thanks for thoughtful gift! XOXOXO

Jessica

I can't get over how cute Jess's amazing grin is! I mean it just makes me smile every time!
Hee hee you take a look for yourself!

LOVE IT!!!

Great work Jess! I can't wait to get them all up for you to look at. Stay tuned for that tomorrow.

Valerie...

I wrote a little about Valerie's fun session last week! I wanted to share some of the outstanding photos from her season on here. A beautiful girl! Thanks Val!

Computer time!

Today and yesterday have been computer time! I believe that to some I may seem redundant... but I really have been blessed with some amazing clients to work with! Thank you! You all make my time behind the computer so much fun and make me smile still! I know the photographs that you see are documentations of your senior portraits at a time in your life when so many new things are on the horizon and the numerous things that you have out grown are starting to fade into the past that forms you, or for the weddings the glimpses at the moments that flew by on the day of the ceremony. If you are any bit like me I just want to relive everything again once I start thinking back and looking at the portraits! They show my the moments I may have over looked at the time or the ones I giggle at and wonder if I would have laughed then.

Either way....

Thank YOU!!! Thanks for being you and for trusting me to be a part of your very important memories!

Brock & Kalene Tie the Knot!!!

Soft mint green dresses with warm brown fabric accents... hand made to boot!!!

Flowers designed by her grandmother...

Brock and Kalene had a complete family wedding with every little detail planned out so perfectly.  The weather was very cool and cloudy for the day but the rain held off so we were able to capture some amazing photographs at the wedding site.  Everyone that attended the wedding seemed to be anticipating this day for many years and made the celebration complete.

Thanks for your smiling faces, patience out in the chilly air and for the opportunity to be a part of your wedding day!

Hannah

Here's some of the photos from Hannah's session last week...

It's crazy to think my sista and I babysit Hannah and her younger twin brothers when we were little! I almost couldn't believe when she called me and said she was needing senior photos.

Tifany

You did an amazing job today Tif! Wanted to show you a few of the ones that have caught my eye. It was a privileged to meet you and your mom! You have a sweet personality. We did great out running the sprinkles this morning.
Best of wishes for all you chose to pursue in life. We'll keep in touch.

Cheers!

Thursday Senior Madness!

Wow! Today was a great day with two wonderful senior girls!

We started the day off with Valerie at 9am this morning and went out to an abandoned farm house and barn. I think the high light came when Valerie wanted to have a dandelion blowing in her photo and well... we will just say that didn't happen. Her two sisters were the wonderful assistants for the morning. Chauffeuring us around, maybe the wrong way (!?!?!), but we always got to were we were going safely! Valerie, thanks for bringing in your TOTALLY AWESOME snowboard. That is the coolest one I've seen and you looked great in your dress and pink scarf!  Thank you ladies for all the memories and for the opportunity to photograph your senior portraits.

The weather today reaching high into the nineties didn't damper any of our fun and photos as Jessica came for her session at 2 this afternoon. We worked inside for a small amount of time and then headed up into the hills for some fun. Jessica was lucky to have her mom and friend come and help us out!  Kinlee thanks for being such a wonderful "light goddess" you did a fantastic job! I love your little giggle and the beautiful smile that is always on your face.  Jess, can't wait to get some photos up for you to look at. You are a sweetheart!  Thanks!

Cheers!

I'll get some sneak peaks up soon!

Great Families!

Here are the last few photos from the families that I had the privileged to photograph in Chadron! Thank you for the opportunity to spend some time with you family. I have lots of fun stories to go with each of these sessions but I will just leave you with some fun photos!

Kristen

I ran out of town before I was able to make any comments about Kristen's session last week! I don't know how many times I told her that I needed my step ladder to keep up to height with her. Kristen has an amazing smile, beautiful eyes and great personality! I know whatever she sets her mind to in life she will achieve. We played around quite a bit and have some different locations for her and of course the fun umbrella shot! Here's a few of my favorites. Thanks for the fun session! Enjoy!

Cute Family

Willie and Libby brought their two little sweethearts in on Sunday evening. It was so great to see the two of them and how their family is growing. The girls are their entire life and it shows in the ways that they look and play with them. We had lots of fun and I was made aware of what a three year old really knows. They can actually know meanings to words! HA!!! It was great! Then when things were about to wrap up I asked the cute couple to come take a few shots with the sun going down with just the two of them! The photos still make me smile at how much you two really love each other. You two have what lots of others long for! Great to see you and spend some time with your family.

Hally, Hayden & Ransen

These have to be three of the most adorable children there are!  I still am in AW every time I see these three little cuties!

They have the most spectacular eyes and their sweet personalities.

...well at least during this session! I know their mom would agree that they can be little stinkers too.  Thank for bringing them in Jill! Great to see you all and see how BIG they are all getting.

Tanner

I think it wasn't that long ago that I remember my mom taking my sister and I to go over and see Tanner when he was born. Now... HE'S a SENIOR!!!
He came to Chadron yesterday and we photographed his senior portraits downtown by Circa 1900. The weather was absolutely perfect for his session. I think Tanner is probably one of the most photographic senior boys. He did a great job and it was crazy when under 60 minutes after we started we were already done with lots of great looks to show!  His little brother, Drew, was a big help as my assistant for the session. Then the table turned as we got their family together and took some family portraits as well. The weather tried to challenge us a bit and start raining.
But never fear!!!
We drove away from the storm to get some great lighting and beautiful landscape photos for the family.  Drew was a bit concerned when we pilled into the van to go for family photos cause they were out of gas. He sure wasn't going to help push the van if we started sputtering!  We made it though!

Thanks for coming in for two great sessions!!!

It was great to see you all!
