Joel & Kelsey

All You Need is LOVE...

Joel and Kelsey are getting married June 26 in Scottsbluff, NE. I can't wait for the wedding these two are so much fun to work with. The looks they give each other out of playfulness is priceless!

Kelsey and I both went to country schools back in the day when we were in grade school. Then every year in the spring there would be a track meet put on for all the country schools. I still laugh at how I would enter all the throwing events like football throw, softball, ect. because I knew Kelsey would be in the races and would no doubt WIN! Ha ha I guess I was a poor loser, but I knew how to get a blue ribbon... stay out of the running events with Kelsey! :)

Then she went on the run track at Chadron State College were she met Joel! Well... the rest is history!

I wish you two the best and can't wait to to work with you on your wedding day!

family...

These two are the closest thing growing up that I had to younger siblings! I remember changing both of their diapers, packing them around sporting events and best of all... cutting their hair for the first times!!! Actually for his first hair cut my sister held his head so he wouldn't move and we put in a move for him to watch. Placed the chair right in front of the tv and before we knew it he was fast asleep and drooling all over her!!! HA Ha Good times!

WE had lots of fun and spend lots of nights sleeping over on the coach! Their big sister, was my twin sister and I's really good friend and high school classmate.  Thank you for coming up and allowing me to capture their warm smiles and cute mischievous grins!!!

I miss you all very much!

Damon

Here's a few from Damon's session on Thursday! We had a great day and he was a good sport to get all the different looks we got!

Thanks for coming in! I look forward to hearing how your wrestling season goes! Best of luck!

Aaron & Addison

I wanted to start sharing with you a little personal project that I have been wanting to do. It is in the beginning steps but I thought a little look at some of the fun photos would be appropriate!

Ever since I could remember I was taking photos . I would take the film camera my mom had and go photograph all the horses, cows, chickens, ducks, and whatever small creatures we had on the ranch. Then I won't forget the first images I captured of the portrait nature...

I made my twin sister dress up in the attire I picked out for her :)  hee hee and set up a little studio set in our bedroom. Soon after that, the weather warmed up and she got to be a "little model" outside!  There were amazing barns, wheat fields and abandoned house that we went to.
It still makes me smile to how patient she was with me!  I mean I had her in a barn with wasps flying all around her and I was like, "Just smile!!!" OH boy!!! She takes patient to another level! Thanks Jes!

So... my personal project is to gather a collaboration of portraits of twins! Laughing, smiling, hugging, chillin', playing, talking, and communicating in the language that everyone else wants to understand. I have lots of ideas for the end goals of this project, but those will come at a later time and with some help of a great friend  of mine I will continue to have someone help capture my sister and I!  I hope you all enjoy reading the process of this project. Let me know if you have any fun stories or comments to share. OR... if you know of any twins... SEND THEM MY WAY!!!

Here are a few of Aaron & Addison's session. Addison really got into the jewelry I had! I have lots more but this is your little glimpse!

Enjoy this foggy, yet warmer day! I'm off to get set up for a senior session!

Bethany... 2010 Senior

I was trying to think of a good word to describe Bethany before I sat down to share a sneak peak of her Extreme Senior Session. I thought of "cute," but know she's more than cute! Then innocent but I'm sure her sisters would say that's not true! So I decided to say she's just adorably sweet!!!

That's two words but oh well!

LOL

Well you can see what you think from these few photos. The day was beautiful with only a few slight breezes. The temperature was perfect for fall clothes and the turning of the leaves was exciting to capture in a few of the photos.

Thanks for bringing in your last daughter Eunice!

I'm off to play some volleyball!

... enjoy!

Alicia

Alicia's session was a wonderful exploration! We drove up into the hills, around town and finished up at the studio. She has some of the most amazing eyes and her naturally curly hair was adorable. Alicia had lots of ideas for her session and her laid back approach to life seems to show through the photos! I had a great day with you and your mom! Best of wishes in all you do. ENJOY!

Catja...

Here's a sneak peak!

...to NE and Back...

Wow!!! It's been over a week since I have had a moment of time to actually set down and send out a message of what all I've been up to! It's great not having time to keep up with my blog cause that means I am really busy! Yippie!

The other good news with being busy are the portraits I will be sharing with you in a flood of images!!!

I will try to start from the last of it all.... Well maybe I will play a little catch up then get into more detail...

After Barry and Lacey's couples session for their one year I packed up the next day and watched as Trevin and Catrina exchanged wedding vows before their family and friends and then drove off in the coolest old car!  They topped off their night out at the Old Governor's Mansion with a great dance reception provided by Marek DJ Service's here in Rapid City. CONGRATS!  ... photos to come!

On Sunday the 30th of August I met Jay and Corinne at a beautiful flower garden for some time with the two of them before their amazing families showed up for photos. Yes, I do mean that your families were "amazing." It was a fun night with some dancing to top it all off! Corinne you were absolutely astonishing!

Then....  I had a fun packed week that led up to Ken & Effie's wedding at the park on Friday morning at 10am. I was thrilled when Effie called me to see if I would be interested in a small wedding out at the park with just the two of them and a couple that stood beside them.  It was probably more romantic and personal then they even know!  What a group! I enjoyed our laughs and will have to find out what you were doing to keep the laughs coming!  I hope your weekend away was relaxing.

And finally it was... Nebraska HERE I COME!!!

When I arrived in Chadron, I went to meet Catja and Senna for Catja's senior session. "Cat" as everyone calls her is the foreign exchange student from Denmark. She was an absolutely joy to work with! Thanks for calling Senna to set the session up!

It's always very special for me to go back "home" to NE and stop by and see my grandparents... so that's just exactly what I did!  I enjoyed a fresh dinner from my grandparents garden on Friday night and great conversation!  Love, LOVE, LoVe you two!  Thanks for always being so supportive and encouraging!  To finish off a very productive, exciting, two state day I went home to my dad's house and crashed.

Saturday, September 5th.... Wade and Megan were united in marriage with beautiful weather and amazing colors. I spent the entire day with Megan, as she finished up her hair, applied mascara, slipped into her dress and danced with her husband for the first time! Congrats and Cheers to the two of you! Thanks for having me be a part of your day!

.... yep... if you guessed...  I loaded up on Saturday night and went back to SD to get ready for the celebration of Bud and Irene's 60th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday! Their family and friends from all over came to celebrate the milestone Bud and Irene have reached.  I asked Irene how the last 60 years went and she said that, "Life isn't easy, and sometimes you have to fight for what you want, but it's wonderful in the end!"  Thanks for the privilege to document your milestone together!

I believe that is the best place for me to end.  The joy of photographing a couples announcement as husband and wife to the celebration of 60 years of marriage, I believe that is the specialist times in two peoples lives and I LOVE being there for that!

WEW....

That was an OUTSTANDING List of memorable events and celebrations. Thank you to all of you for your trust, joy and relationships as clients.

Karl & Joni's Engagement Photos...

I had to share a few of the hundreds of fun photos that I captured of Karl and Joni for their engagement session.

We all drove out to Karl's families farm early evening for these photos. It was kind of a questionable day as the wind was blowing terribly. We all kept our spirits up and carried on with the plan! But when we arrived at the farm the wind was still pretty scary for Joni's beautiful long hair.  Instead of starting off with photos we just cooked up an amazing dinner and sat down to enjoy it together.

When we finished up with the last dishes the wind had went down so much more and we were on our way to beautifully lit photos.  BUT WAIT.... if it wasn't enough with the wind... then we had the mosquitos swarming all over us! Oh yes! They were every where. In some of the photos I will be editing them off of Karl and Joni's head as they were trying to hold still for the picture before they swatted away the mosquitos again. LOL  That was so much fun! Thanks for working through all the awesome conditions for the amazing images with the sun going down too!  You two are absolutely the cutest together!!!

These two are to be married next June at Sylvan Lake.  I really can say that they have what it takes and wish them so many exciting moments together.  Thanks for asking me to be your wedding photographer! I'm so excited to see you two exchange vows!!!

Kelsey

Kelsey came in to the studio last Friday for her session with some fun ideas for her senior photos. She wanted to light her soccer ball on fire, ride a bicycle and then we captured a portrait that was a family tradition. Her two sisters had their senior photos taken with similar settings, props, poses and we got it!!!  That evening to top off my great day with Kelsey I went to watch her play soccer.  Thanks for the invite Kelsey!  Great job!  I'll have some photos up to show you later...

Last night my friend had extra tickets to Blake Shelton in concert at the fair and I got to go use them!!! If you enjoy country music Blake Shelton is a wonderful entertainer and it's pretty awesome to see a musician like that. He sounded exactly like he did on the radio. No special computer effects!  He was pretty funny too as he explained to all of us his scare with coming up to SD and playing. Since he really never gets up here he figured no one would show up and then performing on a tuesday night it could really be bad! hee hee

He was happy to see all that turned up for the concert and cheered him on! So if you ever get a chance to see him... I would recommend it!

Have a great day!

Rose

I didn't know when we got in the car to take off down to the beautiful meadow by the creek that Rose was wanting two things in particular to happen at her session. Little did she know she would get both! It rained on us and she was in a meadow covered with wild flowers! The prom dress she wore in the meadow was stunning! It made her eyes really sparkle as she went walking through the tall grass and flowers. Rose you did a great job!!! Here's a few to look at!
