Update on my Newsworthy events!

Hello!

Yes, I will admit... I am running out of time to update all the great session at the studio! But... I am working extra hard right now to accomplish all the exciting wedding planning. I do have to say to all the brides out there... I am fully confident when I recommend booking your most important aspects right away. It's worth changing your wedding date to have the right fit! We did a few changes to get to Dan and I's wedding date of August 28th, 2010! So... get ready for my name to be changed to Anderson by the end of August!!! Don't worry though... the studio will still stay under Hahn for now.

A thought for all the brides out there.... If you go dress shopping and you want to take a photographer along... GIVE ME A CALL!!! That is one of the most fun and exciting events of the wedding planning. You don't have to go and spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on your dress if you don't want to and if you do... MORE power to you! But you can go with some friends or family and really enjoy yourself. Then if you have photos taken you can remember all the beautiful dresses you tried on... all the smiles of your support section... and the laughter that may come from one of those dresses that just doesn't work for you!!! hee hee So... let me know what you think! I am considering it for a few packages!

For all my 2010 and 2011 brides....
*** I am off for a week to WPPI to regroup and regenerate some new ideas, designs, and ways to better suite all your wedding portrait needs!!! Can't wait to get there and LEARN - LEARN - LEARN!!! I'm really excited to get back then and GET GOING on all the new plans I am generating! So stay tuned!

With that said... if you are trying to contact me... I will be out of the studio March 7th through the 14th... Please send an e-mail (jenni@jennihahnphotography.com) or leave me a detailed message and I will get back to you as soon as I get back!

Enjoy your weekend!

Cheers

...to NE and Back...

Wow!!! It's been over a week since I have had a moment of time to actually set down and send out a message of what all I've been up to! It's great not having time to keep up with my blog cause that means I am really busy! Yippie!

The other good news with being busy are the portraits I will be sharing with you in a flood of images!!!

I will try to start from the last of it all.... Well maybe I will play a little catch up then get into more detail...

After Barry and Lacey's couples session for their one year I packed up the next day and watched as Trevin and Catrina exchanged wedding vows before their family and friends and then drove off in the coolest old car!  They topped off their night out at the Old Governor's Mansion with a great dance reception provided by Marek DJ Service's here in Rapid City. CONGRATS!  ... photos to come!

On Sunday the 30th of August I met Jay and Corinne at a beautiful flower garden for some time with the two of them before their amazing families showed up for photos. Yes, I do mean that your families were "amazing." It was a fun night with some dancing to top it all off! Corinne you were absolutely astonishing!

Then....  I had a fun packed week that led up to Ken & Effie's wedding at the park on Friday morning at 10am. I was thrilled when Effie called me to see if I would be interested in a small wedding out at the park with just the two of them and a couple that stood beside them.  It was probably more romantic and personal then they even know!  What a group! I enjoyed our laughs and will have to find out what you were doing to keep the laughs coming!  I hope your weekend away was relaxing.

And finally it was... Nebraska HERE I COME!!!

When I arrived in Chadron, I went to meet Catja and Senna for Catja's senior session. "Cat" as everyone calls her is the foreign exchange student from Denmark. She was an absolutely joy to work with! Thanks for calling Senna to set the session up!

It's always very special for me to go back "home" to NE and stop by and see my grandparents... so that's just exactly what I did!  I enjoyed a fresh dinner from my grandparents garden on Friday night and great conversation!  Love, LOVE, LoVe you two!  Thanks for always being so supportive and encouraging!  To finish off a very productive, exciting, two state day I went home to my dad's house and crashed.

Saturday, September 5th.... Wade and Megan were united in marriage with beautiful weather and amazing colors. I spent the entire day with Megan, as she finished up her hair, applied mascara, slipped into her dress and danced with her husband for the first time! Congrats and Cheers to the two of you! Thanks for having me be a part of your day!

.... yep... if you guessed...  I loaded up on Saturday night and went back to SD to get ready for the celebration of Bud and Irene's 60th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday! Their family and friends from all over came to celebrate the milestone Bud and Irene have reached.  I asked Irene how the last 60 years went and she said that, "Life isn't easy, and sometimes you have to fight for what you want, but it's wonderful in the end!"  Thanks for the privilege to document your milestone together!

I believe that is the best place for me to end.  The joy of photographing a couples announcement as husband and wife to the celebration of 60 years of marriage, I believe that is the specialist times in two peoples lives and I LOVE being there for that!

WEW....

That was an OUTSTANDING List of memorable events and celebrations. Thank you to all of you for your trust, joy and relationships as clients.

Barry & Lacey's 1 year

Thanks so much for coming in for your 1 year Wedding Anniversary photos and getting all dressed up again!!! Barry gave me a call the end of July asking if he could set up a session for Lacey and himself for their one year anniversary to capture some photos that were not able to be taken at their wedding.  I was thrilled when he asked me to do this!  We all met last Friday around 4pm and really were blessed with a cool evening, beautiful light and a couple that is so comfortable with each other. I told these two that it was a real "treat" for me to have a session with them before a busy weekend with two exciting weddings.  That they were so relaxed with each other and truly showed their love was another highlight.  I could jabber on and on but I mainly wanted to share a few of the outstanding images that I was able to capture during their session. Thanks for asking me to do this! You two are wonderful together!  Enjoy!

Friday...

Hello and Happy Friday everyone!

Today is going to be a great day for many, many reasons! I got a great nights sleep, went for a run this morning and got all my thought organized, I am meeting with some great clients to help plan out their family portrait wall montages and for others to plan out their wedding day and all the special memories that I can capture for them!  Then later this afternoon I get the honor to capture Lacey and Barry's one year anniversary photos as they slip back into their wedding attire. I will have to write about that experience later!!!  To top my day off my twin sister is coming in to town to see a family friend of ours that is in the hospital and therefore I get to see her TOO!!!

I hope you all enjoy your friday and have a wonderful weekend planned with your friends or family!

Computer time!

Today and yesterday have been computer time! I believe that to some I may seem redundant... but I really have been blessed with some amazing clients to work with! Thank you! You all make my time behind the computer so much fun and make me smile still! I know the photographs that you see are documentations of your senior portraits at a time in your life when so many new things are on the horizon and the numerous things that you have out grown are starting to fade into the past that forms you, or for the weddings the glimpses at the moments that flew by on the day of the ceremony. If you are any bit like me I just want to relive everything again once I start thinking back and looking at the portraits! They show my the moments I may have over looked at the time or the ones I giggle at and wonder if I would have laughed then.

Either way....

Thank YOU!!! Thanks for being you and for trusting me to be a part of your very important memories!

Brock & Kalene Tie the Knot!!!

Soft mint green dresses with warm brown fabric accents... hand made to boot!!!

Flowers designed by her grandmother...

Brock and Kalene had a complete family wedding with every little detail planned out so perfectly.  The weather was very cool and cloudy for the day but the rain held off so we were able to capture some amazing photographs at the wedding site.  Everyone that attended the wedding seemed to be anticipating this day for many years and made the celebration complete.

Thanks for your smiling faces, patience out in the chilly air and for the opportunity to be a part of your wedding day!

I'm back... for a few days!

I flew in last night from Denver on a bumpy ride as we tried to dodge the storm that swept through the area. I would have to thank the wonderful authors who write the books that can distract us from all sort of life's happenings. I just read right through the half hour delay of flying around the storm and turbulence. But, now I'm back and trying to get back up and going! I will hopefully have a few of the shots up from Dan and Bri's wedding in CA and their "trash the dress" session at the beach! What fun we had!!!  I loved the trip and all the wonderful new experiences I had with the families, friends and with my twin sister! We did great with all our traveling directions (thanks to map quest) until we drove to fly out and the directions to the airport were supposed to be so simple. We made it there in time to drop off the rental car but we were all over the place following the the "airport" signs!  HA HA  Oh for the memories!

Dan and Bri have a great time in Tahiti and we will chat more when you get back!  Everyone else I hope you too got home safely and are recovering from all the excitement and little sleep! Thanks to Bri's family for the hospitality and amazing wedding.  CHEERS!

Hello from CA!

Good morning!  I've been in California in anticipation for Dan and Bri's wedding on Sunday. We've been busy helping with dress fittings, checking out the area and the best part spending time with friends who we've not seen in a while. Ha ha I noticed that I did something I used to not notice doing. When I say "we" I mean my twin sister and I. We were joined back together for a week out here in CA to enjoy some sunshine and summertime together!  When we were kids I remember people stopping us in our stories cause they were like... "Who are you referring to when you say "we" all the time?" That's just the joy of being close twins! Whatever one does, the other one usually did with them and if they didn't it just seems as if they were there cause the other one told them all about it!

Keep enjoying your week... we are almost to FRIDAY!!!  Take care!

Cody & Jacque

For this session we decided to explore a bit! We ended up going on the backside of the creek were none of us had ever been and found some great locations. This was the first time I got to meet Cody and I can't wait for the wedding!!! These two are very relaxed with each other and really enjoy the time together. Though we stumbled across some interesting sights on our little hike I think the session turned out very well! Thanks for sharing in this exciting time for your life together!

Jeff & Krissy

WOW! I could move to the Big Horns over by Sheridan, WY. It is absolutely beautiful up there. Here are a few of the photos from Jeff & Krissy's gorgeous day. Krissy trudged around the mountain side in that dress for these photos! The dress had a mocha brown waist wrap/tie (not sure the proper term for that!) that added just the right amount of color and flare. She made all her own flowers and they were beautiful too! Congrats to you both and thanks for asking me to be a part of this weekend! I wouldn't have missed it!

Matt & Tessa's Wedding

Eureka, SD.... on Saturday, May 30 Matt and Tessa got HITCHED!!!  They had a beautiful ceremony, lots of family, friends and their wedding party was a good looking bunch.  Thanks to all of them for their help! When I first booked their wedding I didn't have a clue where Eureka was. I remember the day I updated my calendar and said I was going to Eureka, many people said, "Is that in the middle of nowhere?"  There we others who started telling me there grandparents, friends or other family members lived in Eureka and that it wasn't but a small town.  I am here to tell everyone that I adored that little town! There was an old brick church, lilacs blooming everywhere, downtown had a gas station that you only see in movies and the lake was breathtaking when the sun set! Matt and Tessa, you have a family and group of friends that would do anything for you. Always remember that they are there for you!  Thanks for showing me once again the true meaning of marriage and LOVE!  I wish you only the best! Congrats!

Oren & Michele

Today was a wonderful day!  Oren and Michele were extremely patient as the weather tried to test them. But... Rain on your wedding day is GOOD LUCK!!! Their colors were refreshing and the day went off better than I believe anyone could have planned.  Thanks to all of the family and friends of the couple for helping to make it such a wonderful celebration. I didn't get to trying to cake but it was a site to see!  (Way to go bother of the bride!!!)  CONGRATS to the happy couple! I had a great day and am so happy for you!

Registry

This year I am excited to try a new idea I've had...
Registering with your photographer!
Why not!
You register at places like Kohls, Herbergers, and hope to get that grill or dish set, but why not register with your photographer and get all the photographs you ever wanted!?!?

Mr. & Mrs. L

February 11th, 2009 I wrote on the website...

What a wonderful weekend I just had with Joel & Lacey! Their wedding was in southern Nebraska in a small town, but what a BIG surprise their photographs have!!! They were such an enjoyable couple to work with. Thanks to them, their family and friends! It was a long trip in the car, but well work it!

Dan & Brianna

Exciting news!!!

I just got the honor to book a wedding with two wonderful people who are family friends from my home town. CONGRATS TO THEM for their recent engagement and setting their wedding location! I will be traveling to California in August to help celebrate and capture their union.

Thanks for the continued support from them and their families,

Jenni
